1 Month to Go!

We only have 31 days to go til the big showdown at the River Oaks Saloon. So shine up those fishin' poles for some hard fishing action to see who will be the next JBFC champion.

The feller depicted in this photo will not hurt you; he's just coming after one man to reclaim his title of JBFC champion of 2007.
He looks savage crazy don't you think!

Barrie's first St.Mary's trout

TaraCarol Sea Trial's

Me, Phil and Barrie took the TaraCarol out for a test run with a 4hp, it was a little under powered but the boat ran real nice with a motor. We took a cruise upstream to the Sobey's camp and downstream to the grave yard pool. The gas can fit right in the stern seat and the motor mounted perfectly. Looking forward to doing some more exploring, we seen some nice pool's upstream and a few fish rising up and down the river.

Mike Reid heads to Andersons Lodge

Our good friend Mike Reid (JBFC 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005) has just started working at Andersons Lodge in North Western Ontario. Have a great time Mike can't wait to hear all your stories! We'll send you a few monster Pike and Musky fly patterns and you send us the photos of the lunkers on the fly!

We now have a man on the ground at Andersons Lodge, check it out!

Almost time for some bass and pickrel!

old man version of a pontoon boat

Me and mark ran into an old fella who was flyfishing in his homemade boat made out of lawn chair's and metal panel's. As a fellow boatbuilder i was impressed, it was light and sturdy, great for putting on a buggy or car. Me a Joe have all ready been discussing building one to try it out.

Wish you were here for this Shawn

14 incher at Lake Y

Me and Mark had an incredible night fishing, got into some big fish, Mark broke one off and we both lost a few more. Took a little while to figure what they were biting on but after that it was non-stop action till dark.

Happy Camper

10 years of thanks.

On behalf of all the JBFC boys we'd like to say thanks to all those who helped make the JBFC what it is today over the past 10 years, thanks too.....

  • Max for hosting trips in upstate New York
  • Shawn for organizing our first trip to the mountains in Alberta
  • Barry Mitchell for his advice while fishing the Blackstone River in Alberta
  • Chungo Creek Outfitters in Nordegg AB. ( excellent accommodations for outdoors men)
  • Carl, Shawn's father, for unknowingly letting Shawn take your Jimmy through Miller Rd. mud bog. ( what a show! )
  • Memories Trophies for providing engraving for the last 10 years
  • Mersey River Chalets in southern Nova Scotia
  • thanks to my cousins Kevin and Danny for letting us use their camp on Lake "X" (pictured above)
  • to the wives for putting up with us coming home to you smelling like rotten wood & camp fuel
  • to Barrie for making the rest of the JBFC trips like a luxury cruise with his camp on the St. Mary's River
  • and to all the guy's who have ever attended a JBFC Fly fishing Adventure

thanks again.

Biggest Fish Contoroversy of 2007/08

Due to the controversy between Jason (a.k.a. Benson) & Phil (a.k.a. "The Hatchet") we will be holding the first official regulations meeting during the 2008 JBFC in Sherbrooke N.S. We'll let each plead there case to the JBFC hierarchy and let either a vote or a measurement decide the outcome.
The good new about this controversy is that it might split the "super power" partners up and we'll be able to fight over who gets who for the next championship run. I'll take Benson for the morning and Philly for the evening; sorry Ryan!
p.s.- Just kidding Ryan, we got to whoop both their asses!

300 post's

We just past the 300 mark for post's on the website!
Thanks to everyone who's a regular contributor
Let's see if we can get to 500 before the end of the year.

A hard days work on Lake X

If this was work I wouldn't need a vacation!

JBFC Mud Fest 2000!

This was one of the best trips the JBFC boys had; off-roading, man pop, and fishing. What else could a man ask for.

Shawn, I still don't know how that Jimmy made it that mud bog with the tires that were on it.

Good times!

Ninja Mission!

Here's an old picture of Benson creeping up on a lunker at the stills.

Happy to Crappy!

Heading to the camp..........
Leaving the camp.............
Unhappy campers at the end of the trip.

JBFC Part 2 1999

Do you guys remember how much fun carrying that damn canoe up to the stills was? Even though it rained the 4 days we camped there it was a great trip, and a story we'll probably wear out in years to come. I'll give a shout out to Uncle Wiggly for his camp!

A windy day..

Way too windy for fishing today, but I had the bug and had to get out. Went to Nine Mile to see if the Shad were active. River was high and a bit dirty, crazy wind and no luck. Drove to Lock 3 and almost fished up to lake Fletcher, Nothing...which is weird! Banjo joined me and did some swimming. No fish moving at all. Made a stop at Powder Mill lake on the way home and fished a little run. Managed a few small smallmouth, lots of work for two little fish!! Gotta love it!!

Fly Shack Order

Anyone interested on getting in on a fly shack order post or email me. Under 50 days to go and the Nova Scotia fishing has heated up! Remember if you are ordering from flyshack your self to click through one of the ad's on the site.
