Watch Out - Cape Bretoners on the Blackstone!

Keep an eye open next time you're on the Blackstone. Not for grizzly bears but for sneaky Cape Bretoners. Those guys will try to shove a finger in your ass and take a picture when you're least expecting it. Lucily in this case, I was warned by an Alberta Frenchman, and stood up just in time.

Blackstone River July 2008

18" Cutt. Evening fish below the Gap. Stimulator dry.

Great time. Paul fished 4 days. Shaun and I showed up Friday afternoon. Fished Friday from Meadow section upstream. It rained and clouded up. Saturday morning we dropped a truck at the bridge. Paul, Shaun, and I fished the 4 km's from the Meadow section down to the bridge. Amazing water. Fish had sore mouths from previous two days. Saturday night we hit the section just below the Gap. Used a quad to cut off the first 2 km's and kicked ass for 3 hours as you can see above. Thanks to Paul for pushing me into this trip.

LIVE Report from the St. Marys River

Reporting from July 2nd @ Silvers pool.





Water levels are some what low but fish are holding and are active. Mr. Horning and Mr. Smith spotted 3 salmon at this pool around 11:30 am. No hits recorded.








Checked out the Ford pool around 1:00pm, 2 fishermen were fishing with many salmon shooting out of the water but none were caught.





Mr. Tremblay and Mr. Christiansen went after sea runs in the community of Ecum Secum. No fish where caught.



Mr. Robichaud hooked into a nice salmon @ the Ford pool, he fought it for 3mins but it got away.


Also, Mr. Horning hooked and pretty much landed a nice 19 inch salmon @ the Ford pool as well last night.
