JBFC Official Rules

These rules apply to all JBFC members and attendees who our competing in the JBFC Biggest Fish Championship in any given year.  Anyone found to be cheating
or will be disqualified from any further JBFC Championships and will be tormented for many many years.

1. All fish caught must be caught with the use of a fly rod and single hook artificial fly.

2. All fish caught must be released. (unless foul hooked badly)

3. All fish caught must be measured and either photographed or witnessed by another JBFC member or attendee, honour system is in play if a measurement or
    picture is unattainable.  (Clause 100: honour system is subject to vote by any JBFC members in attendance if any issues on fish size is encountered)

4. The biggest fish is determined by lenght and is measured in inches (Clause 101: to the 1/2 inch).

5. Species of fish must be of the salmonoid family only

6. All fish caught must be caught in freshwater only.

7. All members and non-members must register in person at the home camp location for that year before they can fish in the tournament.

8. Areas that can be fished during the tournament must be within a 125 kms radius of the home camp location form that year, any fish caught outside the 125 kms
    zone will be disqualified.

9. Start time can be as early as 5:45am to 9:30pm during any given tournament day.

10. Members; founding members are as follows. Maximillion Thomas Klenck. Jason Leon Tremblay. Shawn Christansen. Mark Fraser Smith. Phil William Hatcher. Vote members: Barrie John Reed, Mike Reed.

11. Associate Members; are members that have been invited and participated in more then 2 consecutive JBFC's and voted in unanimously by full members (Must be 19 years of age) Associate Members set to be voted in include, Ryan Horning, Cal Manthorne, and Joe Robichaud.

12. Prospects;  Are first time invitees that are invited to the JBFC to be introduced to the lifestyle. They are not eligible to participate in the JBFC biggest fish competition. A year as a prospect will be considered by members as a year as towards membership.

PL Producing

Smitty had two fish in and released before i got my tube pumped up.

 Smitty and I had a great morning with the float tubes on Sunday. Produced some nice fish. Nellie watched over the pool while we were fighting the wind.
PS. Found trout in PL this morning, yes trout in PL, there are still a few there.

A weekend where anything goes.  No competitions, no timelines.  Only past and present JBFC attendees are invited for a do it all weekend at the camp.  Buggy runs, hunting, fishing, horseshoes, music and drinking, take your pick or do it all.  Let me know what you guys think.  Should be a great time, with Max coming home, and maybe even try and get the elusive Horning back to tango with another box of red!

Congrats, again, to this years champ Jason "twelve incher" Tremblay.  This is his 4th or 5th trip to the top of the podium (I stopped counting @ 3)  to claim the championship belt.  Next year your going down my friend!  

PS- The "Prodigy" would have been the big winner this year with a nice 15" rainbow but he was not sworn in as a official JBFC member, so watch out next year Trems!

Partners for Care Hockey Pool

FYI-  I entered the JBFC crew in the Partners for Care hockey pool once again, But this time we are actually in the running.  Top Prize is $1000.  As it sits we are in 143 place which is really good, only 15 pts out of 1st place out on 1091 entries. If we get any money at all we'll put it towards the bunkhouse.

PS- Make sure you check your fly line every morning for nics or cust, no rules this year, and i'm doing what ever it takes, SABOTAGE 101, class begins Friday May 17th.  YO!

JBFC 15th Anniversary, 2013!

We have hit another milestone moment in the history of the JBFC, 15 years, crazy I know.  We're all getting older except for Barrie, he's REALLY old, but still keeps up with us younger fellers so power to ya ole trout.  
Hope everyone can make it down to enjoy some fishing, drinks, tunes and laughter as always.  I've been informed that the Championship Competition can't commence until the reigning champ arrives, so you better not forget the championship belt cause you are not going back to L.E. with it this year moofasa.  Can't wait to get down there!

Lime Doser on West River

Last Sunday Phil and I went to West River, Sheet Harbor to have a fish and check out the Lime Doser that was put in the river a few years ago.  Nice day on the water but still alittle cool for the fishes.  We managed to catch a few and find some really nice stills to fish.

 

Now were Fishing!

Just having a mid day can of chilli to keep the blood flowing on a cold early day of fishing.  Now that's a tailgate party!

Are we CRAZY! Little bit I'd say.

2nd weekend into fishing season, still cold and damp, water temp @ 5 degrees.  Nothing can stop us from getting to the next possible trophy brookie location.  Thanks again Chris for a cold but awesome scouting day.

We'd like to thank Chris and his dad Stanley for taking getting us to some new fishing locations in the area of  the camp, thanks Chris.

JBFC 2013 date change! May 17th -20th

The JBFC will be held on May 17th to 20th this years @ River Oaks Camp in Waternish.  Lots of food, fishing, and shenanigans as usual.  Bring your buggys, rods and beers.  Looks like the bunkhouse will be useable if everything goes as planned.  Hope to see you all there.  PS-  We may have a special guest appearing @ the JBFC this year to give us all some pointers on fishing in the area, this will classified information so hush hush boys!

April 1st Opning day yet again!

Hope you guys get a chance to wet a line after work on opening day.  Think I'm goona try back my road @ Snows Lake stills.

Bunkhouse progress!

Cal, Jay, and myself made it down to the camp last weekend for a bunkhouse work weekend and finally made some progress, or should I say Jay and Cal made the progress cause I sleep til noon on Sat.  Anyway, Jay and Cal got the ceiling vapour barriered, insulated, and boarded in, and the 3 of us almost finished the soffits but we ran out of material.  Sunday Jay and Cal wired in a few plugs and lights inside.  Its coming along nicely.

Bunkhouse Work Weekend! Changed to March 9th and 10th

OK ladies time to get shaking on the bunkhouse!  Carol is wondering what the hold up is so we're gonna have to try and keep the "real" chief of river oaks operations happy.  How does the weekend of March 9th, 10th work for everyone?  NO ATVS ALOUD!  If we can dig out the siding we can start that, if not, we can finish the soffits and start the ceiling inside, maybe install the stove too. Let me know boys.

JBFC 2nd Annual Jamboree July 27th & 28th.
