Phil caught this nice brookie at Carol's Corner, he also hooked a salmon smolt in the same area the night before.

Me and Phil took the boat downstream to Carol's Corner and hooked some fish and missed a few. Our fishing record is 100% when the TaraCarol is in the water so let's try to keep it that way.

Since Paul came all the way from Cold Lake, I decided to let him catch all the fish! Actually, he plain out fished me. Pulling this 23" beauty out of a small pool just after I left it and after fishing it with the same fly he used for 10 minutes. He also managed a 19", 16" and a few others. I chased a large brown on dry way up above the Trout Unlimited Bridge but to no avail. A large beaver dam has helped the upper section hold water but has hurt the section Jason enjoys. Stauffer gave us a good day, saw some top water action, sun, and fun.

Friday, April 25th the guys dropped off a gift to the River Oaks Camp. The TARACAROL now has a home and works great! More photos and video to come!

1st Trip 2008

Paul and I are hitting Stauffer and the Clear Water all day Saturday. Wish us luck. We just got 2 feet of snow and the high over the last 7 days has been -10 C. Hoping for at least -1 C and a bit of sun for Saturday.

Stay tuned for pictures of teeth chattering, hot chocolate, and icy line. If we get a fish, it should be nice and big. I mean, if I get a fish. Paul had his bull season last year in Spring it's my turn.

Remembering a friend

On this day 6 year's ago we lost our dear friend Nathan Smith, and on behalf of the JBFC boy's I'd like everyone too take a minute and think how lucky we were to have him as a friend. So next time your out fishing take a few cast's for Nathan, I think he would of enjoyed that.

April 28th weekend in Sherbroke!

April 28 will be the next trip to the JBFC headquarters, all members and attendees are welcome.
I'll be taking my truck down so if we have any larger items we want to bring to the camp I can throw them on the truck. I'm taking down a can barrel and the horseshoe pits this trip.

I just read that they are changing the regulations this year for the St. Mary's river back to a CLOSED RIVER. Everything in the main river and east and west are not going to open for salmon or trout this year! Yikes!! Some one should let Barrie know!
